Lemon mousse with strawberries

Some weeks ago I had the pleasure to assist a short course on “Desserts for the summer” with David Lienas, organized by Espai Consum (a special thanks to Gemma for the invitation!). I really liked the way David explained the recipes, he is fun and easy to follow. The four desserts that he showed us are all very easy to make and taste great, but I think the lemon mousse was the easiest of all: only 5 basic ingredients, 10min of preparation and an impressive presentation that looks very “professional”! Here is the recipe and the result:


  • 300gr heavy cream
  • 120ml lemon juice
  • 225gr condensed milk (*)
  • 50gr strawberry jam
  • 4 strawberries
  • 4 chocolate sticks for decoration


Whip the heavy cream (must be cooled at the fridge for an hour or two before whipping).

Mix the condensed milk with the lemon juice and add to the whipped cream with slow movements. Let the lemon mousse mixture cool for about 4 hours at the fridge.

In a small glass or bowl, add some lemon mousse at the bottom, then a layer of strawberry jam on top and decorate with a fresh strawberry and a chocolate stick. And that’s all folks!!

(*) For my taste, this dessert is a bit heavy and maybe a tad too sweet. So, either make really small portions, or maybe try using less condensed milk and find something to replace it with… Of course, this is just a matter of personal taste, as all of my friends who have tried this didn’t not seem to have any problem finishing their big portion 🙂
